Important-please read: Tuesday 20-Feb-2001 15:15:51 Hello Folks: Well I have some good news and I have some bad news. Let me get the bad news over with first: BAD NEWS:As of March 5 2001 this insidetheweb.com message board will cease to exist. As it turns out insidetheweb.com is folding and with them goes this message board. GOOD NEWS: Insidetheweb.com was kind enough to allow us to download the board contents and save it on our hard drives so that we may upload it as an archive list of posts. I will do this soon.I have been working on a new message board for my clients and will work on installing/configuring a similar board for you all here. It is a much nicer board and very flexible. Rest assured that you will continue to have a message board and this site will not disappear. Please go ahead and bookmark SE'81 site http://www.buckeyewebdesign.com/southeast/southeast2.htm so that you will get the latest news on the new board. I apologize for this inconvenience. We will not have to worry about the future board as it will be MY board and located on MY server. If you have questions please email me at: asbluebird@aol.com Thank you AngieAngie - site owner - asbluebird@aol.com Reunion? Saturday 17-Feb-2001 08:40:54 Hi everyone! Friday 9-Feb-2001 15:49:33 Hi everyone. Just popped back in to see who else has found this WONDERFUL site that Angie works so hard on! We appreciate it Angie!!!! THANKS! It is so great to hear what everyone has been up to! I recently talked to Shari Watson's brother and she is somewhere around Charlotte S.C. (I've been trying forever to get in touch with her!) I also recently talked to Anita Garvin Stanley and I will pass this site on to her also. She is getting ready to move to Tennessee! Carl hoped you enjoyed your trip to Dallas (my old stomping grounds!! I miss it!!) Cathy and John hope all is well your way and you have found some NICE chickens (we made one of ours so mad as kids it used to actually CHASE us!! Ha ha ha) I do miss the old farm!! (Does John remember Kathy Kallas and her pet pig she'd take to SE with her? She used to leave it in her car during the school day only a couple times tho) Ha ha Angie Tammy, Vicki Cindi & Scott Bruce Laura, Carl, Melanie and everyone I missed who has wrote in ... Glad to hear from you!! Keep posting! Hope to see you all at the reunion!!Susie Kruger Besta suzyqinn@aol.com photo board missing some photos Wednesday 7-Feb-2001 10:18:36 Just so that you know ...The photo board is missing some photos. I did not take them off but uploaded an older file by accident that did not have the images in the file. My mistake sorry. I recently purchased a new Dell and thought I had transferred everything over. I am now searching my Zips for back-up copies of these photos and will hopefully find them and reupload a new page. Just did not want you all to think I took any pictures down on purpose. ~AngieAngie asbluebird@aol.com Re: photo board missing some photos Friday 9-Feb-2001 09:27:47 Hello! Hey good news - photo board is back to normal! I found the pictures and they are all up on the page again. Sorry for the delay. If you ever notice something that is not quite right with the site please let me know. Thanks! AngieAngie asbluebird@aol.com Hi! Saturday 20-Jan-2001 18:58:00 Sally told me about the website so I thought I would say hello. Denny and I have been married for 16 1/2 years. We have two sons Keith (8) and Brent (7). We now live in Naples Florida. We own a music store plus Denny teaches music at a private school where our kids are enrolled. I work at a public accounting firm. Our boys are very athletic so any spare time is spent at the football field or hockey rink. Does anyone have any updates on the reunion? It would be fun to attend but we will need to do some planning. Thanks CindiCindi (Browning) Scott CScott1048@aol.com Re: Hi! Friday 9-Feb-2001 09:32:22 Hi Cindi So glad you found us! 16 1/2 years!! WOW!! Congratulations!! Naples is beautiful. I visited there while staying around the Fort Myers area. It is so clean in Naples! :)If I receive any updates on the upcoming reunion I will certainly post them on the site and board. Take care and pass the word around about the site. Thanks Angie p.s. if you would like to post pictures of your family just email me and I will fill you in on how this can be accomplished. :)Angie asbluebird@aol.com HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!! Sorry you had some difficulty in getting into the Talk City chatroom. If you do not come up with a VERY unique nickname Talk City will request that you register and come up with a nickname that is not taken. Can be a hassle. If others had problems with getting into the chatroom please let me know and I will work on getting another chatroom on the site. The SE chat was fun. There were a few friends that popped in while I was there and we had a great time chatting about kids old times new times and of course kids again. yes" :) Happy Halloween! AngieAngie asbluebird@aol.comCLASS OF 1981 REUNION Sunday 22-Oct-2000 07:44:49 I SPOKE WITH DIEDRA THE OTHER DAY AND WE DISCUSSED OUR UPCOMING 20TH REUNION. SHE SAID SHE COULD USE SOME SUGGESTIONS ON WHERE TO HAVE IT. SO ANYONE OUT THERE WITH ANY IDEAS CAN E-MAIL ME WITH THEM AND I WILL PASS IT ON TO HER. SHE COULD ALSO USE SOME HELP WITH PLANNING AND OTHER DETAILS SO LET ME KNOW. ALSO SHE COULD USE CURRENT NAMES ADRESSES AND PHONE NUMBERS OF ANY CLASS MATES THAT WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND. Great I hope. Just happened to stop in to the message board - gosh no one has written for a while! Well anyway I will help Deidra if there is anything I can do from all the way down here in Tennessee! Probably not much but I will help if she needs me to. John and I already talked to her about including something family oriented in the 20th reunion (kid friendly). I sort of hope the plans steer away from meeting at bars and such since that is no longer our bag anymore (hasn't been for over 10 years now!) I would love to see something like dinner at a nice place - wish we could almost re do a prom type atmosphere in a big hotel with high ceilings and a city view. Probably not a reality since it would cost big bucks though. Don't we have a rich classmate somewhere that would like to treat us to such an evening? I am kidding with you of course! I guess I am just a nostalgia buff anyway! What is the news on the cruise thing she talked about?? Whatever we do we need to make it alluring to all the out of towners since a lot of the class left Ohio at some time or another. It would be wonderful to get them to come back home for this one! I need to call Deidra. Let us know what is going on and if there is anything we can do from here. John and I will be going back to Kona Big Island Hawaii in month of January to shut down store there so will be unavailable then. Business NOT lucrative while we are not there so bringing that system home. Am looking forward to going back - it is my 2nd home in my heart! Bruce take care and Best Wishes to you and yours! Cathy (Hunter) MayesCathy Mayes incrediphoto@juno.comRe: CLASS OF 1981 REUNION Saturday 25-Nov-200020:19:01 Hi Bruce Would you tell Diedra that I would be happy to help. Just let her know for me. I really haven't been brain storming too much but the cruise sounds great. You can email with the info. Maybe if she would post something here she would get more input. Tell her to "get online". I hope the holidays were good to you. I have been talking with Vicki Chew Barnhart and she gave me Deidra's number left a message quite some time ago but haven't heard anything. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help I know we need to get a start on this pretty quickly. A lot of people live out of Ohio now and a lot of others may need to "put in for vacation" etc. I hope to hear from you soon and have a great New Year.Tammy ManfrediTammy Bragg Manfredi tmanfredi@carolina.rr.comOUR FIRST VIRTUAL HALLOWEEN BASH! Thursday 28-Sep-2000 12:20:39 Hello to everyone I have been reading the different messages coming in and have finally decided to actually write. This is a great site Angie! I have really enjoyed it. It has been great catching up with what classmates have been doing. I have a few responses...Sally it was great to see your message. Yes I remember you even without a picture. In fact was just discussing you and an ice skating incident that happened at your house. Saw your nephews prize chickens at the Randolph Fair too. Jim Shively (class of 80) and I wed in 1984! We now have three children Melissa 7 Luke 5 and Victoria 2. They are truly a blessing in our lives. We are home schooling. Melissa is in 2nd grade. Luke will be doing Kindergarten next year as he just turned 5. We are currently living in Medina Ohio which is about 1 hour to the west of the Southeast area. We have a small barn on our 2 1/2 acres with little animals which currently consists of 2 goats 3 rabbits and 30 some chickens. Melissa has quite an egg business going. I am a stay at-home mom after quitting my job with Hewlett-Packard Company in 1993 after Melissa was born. I can't really say I'm a stay at-home mom though as I seem to be always going somewhere! Jim is currently employed as an SAP ABAP Developer in downtown Cleveland. The company has relocated to Pittsburgh and we are currently buying time. We are looking into several possibilities including the Michigan Detroit area. After returning to Ohio from Virginia 16 years ago I'm not sure I'm ready to move again. Guess it is one way to clean my basement! (and those boxes we moved from Virginia that never got opened!) I look forward to seeing more messages and it has been great catching up with all of you. Sue P.S. To Cathy Hunter Mayes: Get those chickens I recommend Aracaunas -- the ones that lay green blue or peach colored eggs. They are really fun and you only want 3 or 4. Melissa even has one she rides her bike with. It sits on her handlebars! Quite comical.Sue Kline Shively shivelyjs@msn.comRe: Hello! Thursday 28-Sep-2000 21:07:07 Dear Sue Hi!! Gosh I just wrote you a huge letter and this stoooopid thing disconnected so I guess I lost it all!!! Well anyway I will recap!! Yes those Aracaunas are the very chickens I would like to get - do you have a source to order them from?? I won't be ready for them until spring of course. My mom had a few of those at one time I think. Do I need a rooster? I like to hear crowing - but rooster with spurs and an attitude aren't too cool - been there done that in high school. I had a pet Rhode Island Red named "Tert Tert" (that's what he said all the time) and he rode on my bike too - also in a basket and on my shoulder! After John & I left home - Tert got mean with mom so Dad butchered him - I guess he was served up with dumplings! Well what can you do with a chicken who goes bad? We are getting into this farming thing - my parents are really proud of John too! So you home school?? Cool. I did Trevor for 4 years - pre K to 2nd - he is in private Christian Academy this year. Vote for Bush so we can all try some vouchers!! Trev's tuition is $3 500.00 plus some this year (includes all books and school lunches though)-payment put the bite on us per month - vouchers would be a welcomed help. This is excellent education though and they use the same curriculum that I used - A Beka. I didn't want to back track and put him in public school. A Beka averages 2 grade levels above public school. Didn't want my time with Trevor to be in vain. I worked as a secretary in public schools and tangled with the school board too over my niece who lived with us for 4 years during high school. Lots of garbage going on in public school. I am sure there is a lot of good too - but I saw a lot of seniors pass through my office who could barely read!!! And I calligraphied their diplomas - they were being pushed through the system. That blew it for us - we lost a lot of faith in public school after that. Homeschooling is the hip thing to do these days anyway - and practically a must if you have any moral convictions and are financially able to do it! Congratulations to you! I know what sacrifices you are making and all of the hard work you are doing! It is a full time job and very hard work! There are a lot of people who are doing homeschool - I think they are the new movers and shakers of tomorrow. A LOT of families at our non denominational church homeschool - their kids have graduated and scored super high on the SAT's and all of those tests - most have won full scholarships to colleges - not too shabby for a bunch of mom teachers!!!! If we couldn't afford this school Trevor is at - I would be homeschooling again this year! Well we have a field trip tomorrow with Trev's class - John and I are chaperoning - taking Meg too. Going to see Battle of Philidelphia re-enactment. Have to drive nearly to Chattanooga!! Taking picnic lunches and kids going for hayride there too. Better close for now. Say hello to your family for us! Hope to meet them all someday! It is great to hook up with old friends from school. Sounds like you're really busy with all the moving and lots of changes going on. Write when you get a chance! God Bless adn Take Care - Bye! CathyCathy (Hunter) & John Mayes incrediphoto@juno.comRe: Hello! Sunday 1-Oct-2000 21:07:50 HI SUE!!! So glad you found us! :) We've missed you! HA! Man do you have the animals!! HA! :D That's wonderful! Hey want some turkeys? HA! :D Cheers! Angie :) p.s. Remember Ms. Patrone? I have often wondered where she's at now. Anyone know? I thought she was a great teacher. I hope she's doing well. :)Angie asbluebird@aol.comRe: Hello! Sunday 8-Oct-2000 19:30:54 Hey It's about time you finally wrote. I really enjoyed reading all of the interesting things your classmates have written. Happy birthday!! Love NancyNancy (Kline) Dutko Re: Hello! Wednesday 25-Oct-2000 20:50:10 Sue I can't think of any particular skating incident at the farm but it doesn't sound out of the ordinary. I wish I could get back to the Randolph fair. The county fairs out here are terrible compared to those in Ohio. We just don't have the small farm communities to support such a thing. And the food they serve is mostly burritos and tamales instead of Richardson French fries and hot sausage sandwiches. Hey I am considering a few chickens for our family how hardy is the breed that you recommended to Cathy? Would I have to heat a small enclosure for them or would and enclosure be enough? If you would have told me when I left the farm for college that twenty years later I would be wanting chickens and canning from our garden and such I think I would have thought you crazy. Funny how time brings you back to your roots. I am glad to hear that you and your family are doing well. SallySally Chit Chat Tuesday 26-Sep-2000 21:45:05 Hello fellow classmates. I can put the date and time on the front page of the SE '81 site for others to see. We can use the chat room that I have from Talkcity.com or another place to your liking. I may not always be around but I can certainly put the date and time on the site and pop my head in every now and then to make sure everything is running smoothly. Post your thoughts if this interests you.Later AngieAngie asbluebird@aol.comRe: Chit Chat Friday 29-Sep-2000 8:49:48 Count me in. Cheers Angie :)Angie asbluebird@aol.comLong Time Monday 25-Sep-2000 22:40:52 I was browsing the web yesterday and stumbled across this site. Angie you've done great to get this together. I graduated from Ohio State in 85 and moved to Colorado where I have been enjoying the sunshine ever since. (we get over 325 days of sun a year!) I've lived in Denver Boulder and now in Evergreen which is in the mountains west of Denver. My husband and I own a business in Denver and have two boys 5 and 2 who keep us busy. I haven't really kept in touch with anyone since high school so it was a real blast from the past to find this site read everyone's messages and see some pictures. I'll try to find a family photo that doesn't have us standing next to three people that no one would know and put it on the board. Heck I don't know if anyone remembers me without a picture let alone with one. I don't make it to Ohio often but hearing about the few who have visited the message board has stimulated my curiosity about the whereabouts of many of my fellow classmates. Like Kathy, I too, have a garden which gets trimmed by the local wildlife. Here in the mountains we have more elk than deer with an occasional bear or mountain lion interspersed. We have a great hill for sledding and tubing in the winter and can mountain bike through the park which adjoins our property in the summer. (Not that I've done nearly as much of that since the boys were born) We are hoping that this is the year that we can start skiing again. If you get to Colorado give me a ring. Good to hear of everyone. Sally (Tomlinson) FillSally (Tomlinson) Fill tsfill@aol.comRe: Long Time Tuesday 26-Sep-200017:09:24 HEY SALLY!!! Remember me? :) Boy I was hoping you would find the board!! I always wondered what happened to you. Colorado sounds perfect for you. I bet it is beautiful there. Always wanted to get out there and ski. That was my passion before the kids were born but I bet nothing compares to the snow out there. I live on 50 HEAVILY wooded acres. I know about critters too! Right now we have three pet turkeys! HA! Not really pets but boy do they think they are! They torment my old black lab to no end! HA! She's actually afraid of them. HA! :D Thanks for finding us and please stick around and gab when you can. We love hearing from you! Cheers AngieAngie asbluebird@aol.comHappy Belated Birthday!!! Tuesday 26-Sep-200018:46:15 It was great to find this site Angie did a great job.I always think of you on our birthday I seem to go through an identity crisis every year!! You know we are closer to 40 than 30!!!! oh well I live in Phoenix Az have since 1987 my husband and I have 2 businesses and no kids just three dogs and a bird!! Well just wanted to say HI Chris CobbChristine Cobb christinecobb@uswest.netRe: Long Time Sunday 15-Oct-2000 19:27:03 Hi Sally!! I have written you 2 giant letters and lost them both on this dumb thing - it crashes on me before I can save them at times! How are you doing?? We have visited your area years ago - lovely!! Would love to come ski Colorado snow sometime!! John does black diamond runs - he's a bit on the daredevil side as usual. I broke an ankle here once - avoiding a novice snowboarder - I should have let him hit me instead. We haven't seen any wild animals around here lately as in bears or coyotes etc. - but I am covered with poison ivy!!!! We have been clearing some fence lines on the new 5 acres with the barn we just purchased in August. I am allergic to the stuff and I have Popeye the Sailor Man forearms!!!!! I am a mess!! I fell off my horse Beau last Sunday - a big Buck and 2 does jumped out in front of John and I. John was on Razzberry and they stopped - I wasn't looking in front of me or holding on - I was reeling up a lead line that was dangling from the saddle horn and when Beau saw the deer he took 3 hops to the side! We were at a full gallop too. I hit the dirt very hard - my lower back and my head. I nearly took a nap!! Wish it would've knocked more sense into me!! I am always the one getting conked in the head or busted up somehow!! John must be made of rubber! He has all the luck. Hey do you know what ever happened to Cindy and Denny Scott? Haven't heard hide nor hair of them for 20 years!! You and Cindy used to hang together some our senior year right? Let me know if you know anything. Hope you and your family are enjoying the cooler weather there - we are here!!! Not as hot as it was - - well gotta get to the tub to get rid of any new ivy! Man am I itchy!!!!!!!!!! Write when you get a minute! I am truly enjoying hearing from so many classmates - still need to write to some more - so many to catch up with! Take care and God Bless!!!!! Cathy (& John Trevor Meghan and all Tennessee Farm Critters!)Cathy (Hunter) Mayes incrediphoto@juno.comRe: Re: Long Time Wednesday 25-Oct-2000 20:34:29 Cathy I hope your poison ivy is better now. Did you have to get the shots to clear it up? I have to thank you for getting Angie to setup this site and for asking about Cindi and Denny. It prompted me to pick up the phone and have a catchup session. I hadn't spoke to them for about 4 years. Funny how things slide when your kids are infants. Anyway they are fine I told them of the site so I bet they will post something at some point. They have two boys also. It was great to talk to them again. Now that our kids are all getting a little more self reliant maybe we can stay better connected. You should all come out skiing. Ted and I also ski the black diamonds but I refrain from doing jumps. It's just too hard on my knees. I do enjoy cruising down the blues too though. I really need to start getting into better shape before I hit the slopes this year. We have been so busy with our business the kids and we are in a constant state of remodeling our house. Ted does all the work himself which he is very good at but he really has very little time so we have many uncompleted projects. Well thanks for thinking of me keep in touch. SallySally Email Directory Saturday 23-Sep-2000 09:36:14 Hi All -- Just to let everyone know ... We just bought a small farm in Palmyra. Now my daughter gets to be a mighty mighty pirate too. Good thing I saved all the pirate stuff I collected in school. I can't imagine what those jackets cost now. Hope I see some of you around the neighborhood. Paula NeffPaula Neff pkneph@email.comRe: I'm a pirate again. Friday 8-Sep-2000 06:25:45 Hey Paula! Great news about the farm! Sounds like fun! Are you planning on having animals or just crop? Give us the scoop! :) Cheers AngieAngie asbluebird@aol.comRe: Re: I'm a pirate again. Thursday 14-Sep-2000 20:44:57 We'll probably have some chickens. I've already got egg orders and we won't move in until October. Ben wants cows. Jenny wants anything fuzzy and cute. Cute is fine by me. Ever notice we don't eat the cute animals? I'm a wimp. I love beef but I don't think I could raise a cow and then send it off to its death. I can steal unborn baby chickens though or maybe learn to shear sheep. Maybe black sheep. We're also thinking soy beans or sunflowers but the first thing we have to plant is a new septic system. See ya Paulapaula The great class of '81 Wednesday 6-Sep-2000 19:46:19 Hi everyone!! Thank you Melanie for emailing me with this location. It was great hearing from you. It was nice reading everyone's messages. I have been married for 17 years. My husband & my two daughters Samantha(14)& Brandi(11) live in Newton Falls. We own The Sandwich Factory (16 years in December). My husband also works for The Cadle Co. I also drive school bus full time (yeah me) for the NF district. Too funny. What can I say they were very short of help they asked I said yes after a little convincing. I was just recently in the elementary school when my oldest daughter played volleyball. Sooooo many memories. It has walls now!! It was great to see I wish I could have gone around the whole thing. This Friday Sept. 8 2000 SE plays NF (at NF) I hope to see many of you there if you can make it. I'm sorry but I will have to wear orange & black (don't worry I will wear something maroon & gold too). I will be looking for familiar faces. If I don't see you there stop in my store to say "HI" I would love to see you. I will be at the reunion just let me know when where & if I can help.JoniJoni (Hastings) Lance Bossjoni@aol.comRe: The great class of '81 Friday 8-Sep-2000 06:24:28 Hi Joni Hey glad you find us! HA! ~Angie Angieasbluebird@aol.com Just an update: Sunday 6 Aug-2000 20:44:43 63.28.169.31 writesJust another quick note to give everyone an update. My wife and I just returned from Los Angeles. I had to go for business but decided to take my wife for a long weekend before and do the California thing. I found some information about Brian Ulm on another web site (highschoolalumni.com) and he lives out that way. Gave him a call and my wife and I met him for dinner one night in Monrovia (the small town where he lives in Cali.) We had a wonderful time talking about the old days as well as current affairs. Loved the town where Brian lives but for the most part hated LA. Don't think I will hurry back anytime soon. I have to go to Dallas at the end of this month Charolette in Sept. Washington DC in Oct. and Atlanta in Nov. If anyone knows of classmates in any of those regions let me know. Sure would like to say hi to everyone. Well my daughter from Ohio is down here for the rest of the summer and she is waiting for me to go watch a scary movie. Got to go for now. Best wishes for all. PS I like the idea about the family thing for the reunion also. We're still out here! Saturday 29-Jul-2000 07:51:42 209.252.1.196 writesHi Everyone!! No! John & I did not fall off the face of the earth Ang - - - SORRY we did not get back in touch for sooooooo long - since end of January?? No home phone for a while - then broken modem - was online for only a week right before leaving for Kona - couldn't get a free server line outside of Honolulu - all long distance and sounds like the dog ate my homework but it's all true!!! A thousand lashes for me - hope all is well for you guys!! Actually we very nearly fell off the earth - 5 000+ miles back to Kailua-Kona on the Big Island to run the store there for the months of Feb and March of this year. Lots of hula and surfing too! Since we have come back home to Tennessee - Smokey Mountains ya'll - we have been busy 24-7 with the store here in Gatlinburg not to mention nearly 14 acres of grass to be mowed!!! Getting more acreage here in several weeks a barn horses and thinking about goats or something - anything to eat this grass!!! John is a farming guy now - has a big red Massey Ferguson tractor - very sexy too (the tractor you guys!) Actually he looks really great in his gum boots every morning when he heads out to the tractor. He will kill me when he reads this! Even small farm operations (2 Great Pyrenees puppies a Himalayan cat (coyotes ate the 2nd one) a wild baby rabbit - nearly mowed to death with new tractor) and a hermit crab) plus hayfields and gardens 2 kids homeschool and 2 business locations can cause people to neglect their e mail and housework!! Mom and Dad (Hunter) live here in Tenn. and helped us plant a gargantuous garden (the deer are helping me pick what is growing) and it is all a bit overwhelming finally getting into this novice farming stuff. I can imagine how it will be as we add more and more animals! Now is the time for the Elly May Clampett to come out in me - all I need is a ce-ment pond!! I have heard from other 'Elly May' types that it is easier to ask forgiveness than it is to ask permission. John has said he will divorce me if I bring home chickens. He's kidding!) I don't know what it is about the chicken thing - but I am working on him about it. Wanted: excellent arguements on the virtues of owning your own chickens!!! a.s.a.p.All I want is 4 good laying hens. Chickens aside I am sure we will get the hang of the farm thing soon. Angie the website looks fantastic!!! Better than ever!!! I told her it would be a hit when she was first thinking about it!!! By the way how long can these messages be? I honestly have not touched the computer since the end of Jan. when we left Tn. for Kona - I must have a gazillion e mails! Please forgive me to all have written and wondered where I was - the computer is an addiction for me so I am taking chances by getting back in here again but I talked to Dee (Martin) Robinson last week - always a great pal of mine since 2nd grade - and now nearly a neighbor over in Abingdon Va. - who said lots of people were writing in on the message board here and that Angie was wondering where the heck we were! It was time to get this thing fired back up again! I can e mail books of personal letters. Once again I will become the late night e mail junkie!! I would love to hear from everyone though - for us out-of-staters it is just FANTASTIC!! John and I hope everyone is doing great. We were in Ohio - all the old stomping grounds - 2 weekends ago for a wedding - our daughter Meghan & son Trevor were flower girl and ring bearer in a cousin's wedding. We were driving around the old neighborhoods and drove past Deidra's dad's house and I got her phone number. We looked her up before we came back home to Tennessee. She looks great and has a nice home and beautiful family! We need them to come see us and pick off some of these brazen deer hanging around the back door! Gil and Brian had some nice trophies up in their house. We got to meet her beautiful daughter Samantha - but missed seeing her son Brian and Gil. We asked about possible reunion plans and she has been throwing some ideas around. She is totally open to ideas and suggestions - and she plans to be on line very soon she said. She already knows about this web site and plans to visit it soon. It is possible the reunion may incorporate some of the things that have worked well at some of the past reunions. She is thinking about a 3 day thing too - something for just classmates - then classmates and spouses then for families. We are big into the family thing - It was really neat to come to the 5th class reunion picnic and see classmate's children there -cute little versions of the people and friends we grew up with and spent such a big part of our childhood with. A big family style picnic with bunches of kids of all ages and sizes would be totally cool to us if it could be pulled off. It sounds like a lot of us waited to have kids going by some of these messages - lots of them are around the same age. It is a humbling thing to ponder for John & I to realize we could have kids graduating high school right now driving cars (scary!) or getting married - but I am glad we waited to start a family personally - we ourselves were way too crazy until we nearly hit 30! Thank God literally for change! I guess each one of us has a novel or a TV mini-series someone could make of our lives right? You guys will have to talk to Deidra about some of the other things and ideas she talked to us about concerning the reunion. I think there is nothing really concrete about anything yet. On a serious note concerning what our anonymous classmate wrote here earlier that some may not be invited - I hope that won't be the case. To her and anyone else interested in my concern and opinion of the situation - here is my offer of help. Unfortunately we can't go back and change the past - I think everyone had hard times in school and maybe at home - I did. I remember some truly bad things that happened that ranged from just plain crappy to truly horrific. Perhaps you like me would be surprised to know how many of us have shared terrible experiences and memories from those days in some form or fashion to some degree. In dealing with those things I personally chose to let those things go as best I could (and there are definite ways to do this) A big help was also to take joy in the friends and good times I remember. In my adult life I have had to apply this over again many times. It helps if you have a friend who has went through this before. Maybe some of us can be a help to you. I hope you don't consider this a pat answer for a genuine problem that continues to affect you but it could be a small beginning - a choice each one of us has that we sometimes need to continue to make on a daily basis. There are a lot of silly teenagers out there that we would swear don't have a brain - (some are even employed by us!) - and we must remember that we were much the same at that age -tremendously silly cruel sometimes often mindless kids. It is a blessing that most of us grow out of at least the cruel and mindless parts. A special request to our anonymous classmate: please give everyone a 2nd chance myself and John included if it be the case. - I am sure that although it may seem hard - it will be worth it for yourself. Forgiving others is not really for their sake but it is actually for your own well being - you will be amazed at how much better you feel if you begin to take steps in this direction. Write to my e address if you would like to talk more okay? I am not attempting to be a professional counselor just a friend willing to listen. And I think I might be able to help. I truly hope you will write - you can even remain anonymous if you want. I hope you can attend this next class reunion and look forward to it too. I am sure you would be amazed at how many of our classmates have all grown up to be caring sensitive adults actually. It is worth a try! Please write. Back to the subject of reunions of sorts I would like to thank Deidra and Angie who deserve our thanks and appreciation for the time and effort and caring they put into the work they have done for all of us. It truly means a lot to me - THANKS ladies!! Roses and orchids to you both - we should do something really nice for you guys!! By the way there are bunches of people I would love to hear from and e mail with - I hope news of this website gets passed around. Life is too short and too precious to take even old things for granted - like old friendships if we have a way and opportunity to enjoy them once again! I have lots to tell about us and our adventures and everything we are up to for inquiring minds. Everyone is welcome to write to our e mail address or when you're passing through Gatlinburg our tourist hot spot in the mountains here (nearly 10 million visitors each year come through the county) please give us a call and stop by the store. John is there most of the time as long as we are in town. The store number is (865) 436-2143. We are located on level B of the Mountain Mall. We are also up for hayrides here on the "Chez Beau La Vue Farm" (Shay Boe La Vue) enterprise. French for the home of the Beautiful View (Much classier name than the Elly May Clampett Farm!) The offers are genuine. Best Wishes to you all - All our Love and Prayers to ALL of our Classmates!!!! Hope you are all doing great! Signing off - I have once again written plenty and it is after 3:00 a.m. YIKES!!! Cathy Cathy (Hunter) & John MayesIncrediphoto@juno.com Re: Hi! We're still out here! I'm posting because of an email change. I finally broke down and got a cable modem. The Winston cigarette account was lost and I followed it 500 miles away for a short time but didn't care much for the round trip flights and the hotel life every weekend so I am back in my own studio still freelancing for various agencies and getting busy on some web design. I got (re)married May 19 in Myrtle Beach SC ON the beach. It was wonderful. Now for the where is...Has anyone heard or seen anything from Michaelyn Plumley since graduation? We lost touch and I've always wondered how and where she's been. Drop me a line if you know. Melanie (Brumfield) Rozzellmrozzell@triad.rr.com Re: Change of address/where is?... I have not heard from Michaelyn but we do have many old classmates that are frequent visitors now so if anyone knows where she is now I am sure they will post a message and let you know. Take care and stay in touch Angie Angieasbluebird@aol.com Cool Beans Monday 24-Jul-2000 21:41:31 63.27.57.39 writesGREETINGS Everyone ... Angie thanks for the "Labor of Love" on this site. I read through every single post and reply (I know I need a life!!).Let's see I'm still in Columbus OH (since 10/81). I went through a very peaceful divorce in 1996 and have remained single. I live with my 11 year old son (Christopher) who is with me every Sunday thru Wednesday via shared-parenting my dog shadow and my cat Jesus (pronounced Haysoos).I am currently in between jobs (yep un-employed). Since high school I did the Bachelor Degree thing at DeVry in Computer Science I then did the computer programmer & consultant thing for 7 years I even did the self-employed thing for 7 years (Video Store) and then back to the computer project management thing for 2 more years and I still don't know what I want to do with the rest of my life. Actually I have a pre-planned 2 week vacation with my son to the Smoky Mountains coming up in August and I plan to do the resume thing and be a tax producing citizen again when I get back.As for other things at 37 ... I still have an entire head full of thick curly hair (much more manageable though - goodbye frizzies) I still have acne ("Don't worry you'll grow out of that" - Someone lied to me) and I just got my first gray hair about 2 months ago which has multiplied into 10 now (Does anyone know at what number we stop counting them?). More seriously having been a part in each others lives no matter how big or small no matter how good or bad we shared it. Perhaps our involvement in this website can be an example for our children to understand and make the most out of their experiences to realize the impact and effect their presence in this world can make (short term and long). I think back to the earlier post on 4-17 with no name how sad that this individual has suffered with such pain for all these years. Nowadays we have school shootings to express that pain. I am really glad to see us connecting in this way. I am grateful for the technology and for Angie putting it to good use. Good luck to all I will check back for more postings often. P.S. By the way check out how I found this site: I was looking at job postings on longaberger.com located here in Columbus. In a link titled 'articles' this guy had reviewed the site highschoolalumni.com I followed the link and finally found southeast under Ravenna added myself and read everyone's profile finding the address to this site. I will call it fate because it put a smile on my face. See Ya!! Robert A. Martin Jr._RAMJR@msn.com Re: Cool Beans Thursday 27-Jul-2000 14:02:24 172.161.110.63 writesHello Bob!
